Summer 2006 (Part 1)
Hey everyone who’s bothered checking my page! First and foremost, deepest apologies for not writing sooner. As I have told some who asked, my internet connection in Malaysia is slower than slow and I could not even access anything. Now my parents have decided to get broadband. When I am back in Australia….Grrrr
It’s been a whirlwind 2 months of summer and uni is starting again. Back to the old grind after such a lovely holiday!
I suppose I have lots to say and very little time to say it. First, for those who don’t know, I was back in Malaysia from 31st December 2006 till 12th February 2007. Loads of things happened back in Malaysia, a lot that I will have to fit into a few installments with pictures to come. The reason I’m doing this is just so I’ve got time leftover to study and do my assignments while still keepign sane by blogging. So you people can’t say I didn’t update
The flight back and forth left a rather interesting taste in my mouth, both good and bad at the same time. My original flight was scheduled at 5.30pm on 30th of December 2006, but as we arrived at the airport at 3pm to check in our luggage (and our enormous stash of yummy cherries and nectarines), we glaced at the departures board and saw that our flight was delayed till 7.15pm. That was fine, we just continued lining up and then I glanced at the board again and saw that our flight would take off at 9.15pm instead. So that would mean the flight from KL to Perth took off around the time we got to Perth International Airport. That’s a good 5-6 hour delay. We found out later on board that there were technical difficulties with the plane we were on when they tried to take off at 9.45am Malaysian time. We arrived back in KL at 2am Malaysian time, which is 3am Perth time. By the time we dragged our feet home, it was already 3.30am and we got to bed at 4am on 31st December 2006. Such a way to be travelling.
The minute we stepped out of KLIA, the humid air hit us like a wet, icky brick wall. Even though it was 2.30am. At that point in time, I was too exhausted to be thinking of anything but settling into my nice warm bed with the airconditioner turned on to full blast.
Speaking about flights, the flight I took from KL to Perth was quite an interesting one. It’s the first time I’ve never watched a movie on board and its the first time going to Perth where my luggage was underweight, I could have taken another 15kgs if I had packed up all my childhood momentos and things. But I just had to get sick the day before flying back. Also on the interesting factor, Zaneta’s dad happened to be piloting the very plane I was in. Out of all the years I’ve been travelling, I’d always hoped someone’s dad would pilot me to my destination and well it happened. It happened the day I was sick as a bat, but it was all good =)
Now, very interesting this happened back in Malaysia, but that is a story for another time. I hope I’ve whetted your appetite for my mundane life for a bit. I promise, once I’ve uploaded pictures onto my server and fixed the coding for the IE sites, I’ll definitely post more in between my busy schedule =)
