Sunny Sunny Days
OK, it’s not a sunny day today but it definitely was sunny on Friday. So sunny in fact that a trip to the beach was necessary. Not that the sun was strong enough, but enough to tan me just a tad bit to aid in the erasing of those pesky tan lines which are still there from last summer.
Speaking about going to the beach, there was this massive swarm of bees that literally came out of nowhere while I was waiting for the bus to Cottesloe. I stood there for 5 mins, wondering if I should make a break for it or if I was in fact safer staying where I was cause the bees didn’t come near me. The final straw was when this guy across Stirling Highway was warning me about the bees and I was terrified that I was going to get stung and I made a dash for the next bus stop. Never have I seen so many bees near me and none of them coming closer than 1m to me. Thankfully I made it to the beach unharmed, though slightly terrified after that.
Went and watched Hair Spray with Amanda and Lin that night. I tell you, it was great to have a well deserved breather after 8 weeks of uni and work. And to reminiscence on the funny events that we got up to earlier this year is just priceless. The laughing was definitely a good workout for the abs
Anyway, today on the way back home, the Smart Rider machine on the bus was out of order and it says so on the screen itself. And not to mention the bus driver was telling people the machine was spoilt so everybody had a free ride today. But some people are just either soooo ignorant or blatantly stubborn that they still try and tap their Smart Riders onto the reader.
There were 2 people who were just beyond ignorant. This lady who tried to tap her card twice on the reader in front of the bus and then while she was going towards the back of the bus, she tries to tap it again on the reader in the back. I nearly burst out laughing at her. It was as if she really, really wanted to pay money to the Public Transport Authority for her bus ride. She must have realised she looked like a goon when she got off the bus and she didn’t bother trying to tag off
The next person was equally as ignorant I must say. She tagged on AND off. The only one who actually tried to tag off. I was just shaking my head, a bus load of uni students and none of them take the 2 seconds to read the message displayed on the reader’s screen.
The best part was, both of them were wearing ear phones, so none of them could hear anything but music I suppose.
It’s so, so, so cold today. And rainy too.
I’ve just been huddled up all day, trying to do my Mental Health assignment and its driving me mental (pun intended). Going off to cook the potatoes and steak, since I’d stink if I showered 1st. So might as well go eat dinner and continue to attack this 4000 word essay >.<
