Sometimes I Wish I Were a Guy

As strange as that may sound, its true. Sometimes I wish I were a guys so I wouldn’t have so many ‘woman’ issues in that sense but then I realised that being a guys comes with its own set of ‘woman’ issues. Then again, I reckon a guy wouldn’t spend as much time worrying about what to wear for work each day and especially what to wear for a work function that requires dress up.

We had the 50′s Tombola Night at work on Thursday. Being the 50′s theme, we all had to come dressed up as some sort of 50′s character. I googled stuff and I had a picture of big skirts with white socks and black shoes. Think Grease the Movie and you get the idea.

So, dress up we did. I tell you, I think I’ve perfected my winged eyeliner although mind you it smudged through the night so not much success there. I put on make up that morning but had to touch it up towards the event but had the basics on. Forgot to take pictures of that, so forget that. I did however get some pictures of the outfits there were and the event itself.

We had to sit through 2 hours of statistics and financial reports before the party began, which was pretty good. Since I had not been working there for a year, I did not qualify for the Tombola but I was given a big Coles Myer voucher. I think I’m just collecting all these vouchers, I got given so many this year I can’t even spend them all!

Right, so there were huge prizes in the Tombola night: massive shopping vouchers (to the tune of $1000), flight vouchers overseas and spa vouchers and the sort. Boy was I jealous of them! I wouldn’t have minded a flight voucher to New Zealand myself :)

Right, back on topic. Sometimes I wish I were a guy. Was just looking at apartments today to move out to and they are tiny! By my standards anyway. I realised all my clothes will not fit into the built-in wardrobes and everything is going to be bursting from the seams! I’m going to have to cull more clothes again. I’ve seen guys’ apartments and somehow they manage to get by with spartan conditions and still survive. I’m beginning to wonder if I’m a diva in saying this. But I sometimes wish I didn’t have to have to look pretty all the time or to have to change into multiple different outfits as some people would know I recycle my clothes and wear the same outfit twice in a week or something. Which I do, I mix and match :)

Sometimes I wish I were a guy so I didn’t have to wear make up to look good. Mind you sometimes I turn up to work with a bare face just cause I woke up late or am just too lazy to put make up on. Sometimes I wish I didn’t have to go through monthly womanly issues and won’t have to go through mood swings. I don’t suffer from terrible mood swings but I do get irritable quite easily and feel lethargic when I’m PMS-ing.

Then there are times where I don’t wish I were a guy. Then I’d have to provide for my family, learn how to parallel park (I still can’t do this even with extra practice!), take care of my lady and so on and so forth. I think I’m very fickle, changing my mind from one end to the other.

Or maybe I’m just PMS-ing.
