Whoopdeedooooo!!!
Perth has voted no to daylight savings being implemented in Western Australia. Boy am I glad. No more driving home and getting sun burnt in the car. No more sleeping earlier and switching the air conditioner on just to cool the place down. Wheeee!!!
On another note, I’ve found out I’m also allergic to my current shower gel (Johnson & Johnson’s Nourishing Shower Gel with Oat Milk and Almond Oil) and also pink champagne. It seems like I’m developing more allergies as time goes by. I’ve taken almost half of the packet of antihistamines since I got them, which was about a month or two ago.
Came back from the birthday parties last night and was pooped. I’m waiting on pictures of the parties cause I didn’t have a camera. I tell you we camwhored like mad. Haha….I’ll get the pics and put them up soon. More about that some other time.
Since I’ve gone and taken lots and lots of movies and TV series off Sam, I’m going to be watching them for a while yet
I just got an e-mail from Nuffnang that I’ve got free tickets to watch a movie. Woohoo!! More about it when I get home tonight. I’m on a first aid course atm so another 3 hours till I have Internet again
Well I hope the Internet resets itself today.
EDIT: I just checked my e-mail again and realised it is a pre-release movie double pass for the movie My Year Without Sex.
Click HERE to watch the trailer of the movie. I must say, this is the first thing I’ve won from Nuffnang and I’m way excited! I almost never win anything and I’ve got double passes to watch the movie before its released to the public.

Looks like my next weekend is booked in to watch the movie now
I was having a conversation with Sam yesterday on MSN. We ended up having quite a bit to talk about.
I was telling her about how I’m left out whether or not in or out of church. In the sense that I’m not exactly part of the ‘in’ crowd. I don’t usually get invited to parties or to lunches or dinners or gatherings. I guess you could probably say I’m used to that by now. I’ve learnt to become a bit more ‘thick skinned’ and ignore it. I’d rather stay home and look after the kids (not mine btw) than drink myself silly.
Then Sam told me, respect is the most important thing of all and that she respected me for being me. I tell you, I was flattered.
I had no idea anybody held any respect for me. You can call me one of the underdogs everywhere I go. I’m usually the silent and shy type where I stray away from socialising. Lone ranger is the term that comes to mind when describing myself.
Even though now that I’m working and have a bit more freedom, I actually don’t know what to do with it. I tend to stay at home even though I can go out. I put it down to the fact that I work crazy hours and that doesn’t leave me with much time to go out, much less time as ‘down time’. Even the times that I’m free, I still stay at home. I think I’m very much a home person.
Anyways, I guess the point of this post was the fact that I was thinking it over while I was in the shower today. What Sam said about respect is very true. I’d rather have people’s respect and be remembered as the girl who has a firm head on her shoulders instead of one that is immature and rash.
Speaking of rash, I broke out in possibly my worst case of hives since I found out about my allergies. And guess what I was doing this time?
I made sure I did not touch the rockmelon that was being cut up. I stood away while it was served.
Within 5 minutes I had a mild itch on my right elbow.
Within 10 minutes I had a mild itch on my left ankle.
My aunty thought it was a psychological thing cause I literally did not make any contact with the fruit.
I went to shower and came out and stared at the mirror.
My neck had red spots and my limbs were itching.
My toes and the soles of my feet were itching.
I pointed this out to my aunty and we both realised I must have come in contact with the dreadful fruit after all. Then I popped an anti histamine tablet. Within 45 minutes the itching stopped.
Though I still have slight red spots on my neck, leftover from that itching frenzy. My allergies are becoming quite bad as time goes along. I honestly hope this isn’t going to get any worse, cause I was already madly scratching like an ape at the stupid spots.
So if you come within 5m of me armed with rock melon, I promise you I’ll make you pay for making me itch like mad. Are we clear with that?

I’m typing this post with my E71 and posting it. I must say, typing with fake nails isn’t the most pleasant thing but it’ll have to do.
I’m once again on hiatus due to Internet issues but will blog soon. I’m so behind posting pictures on Facebook its bad. Anyways, short update is that I’m alive and well. Will get Internet soon and continue blogging, I miss it so much!
I have worked close to 28 hours in the past 3 days.
I’m knackered.
Its my birthday tomorrow and I have not made plans to do stuff just cause I’m way too tired and busy. Though I wouldn’t mind going out to celebrate with friends if someone organises stuff
Looks like its dinner at Nedlands tomorrow
I have gotten my first pay cheque as a full timer! It feels amazingly goooooood!
I can’t stop smiling at the sight of that money in my bank account. My jaws will start to ache by tomorrow.
To everyone who actually takes the time to read my blog,
As some of you might know, I’ve just started my full time job today and am currently staying over at my aunty’s house since it is much closer to work. Only takes 5-10 mins of driving from door to door, which I think is brilliant since I’ve got 7am starts this week. Will be here on and off till the 20th of January, so my internet usage will be minimised.
Therefore, I am announcing a temporary hiatus from blogging. (Cheh, sound so formal). Just cause I’m not using my laptop but using my aunty’s, where can anyhow use right? So I guess blogging is limited to weekends and whenever I can use the computer.
I’ve got so much to blog about: my family’s trip to Perth, our long drive down south and back up again, Christmas dinner, New Year resolutions and starting my first full time job. So much to write, yet so little time to do so. I’m also in the process for doing my medical and migration papers so I’m running up and down, higgeldy piggeldy driving between places and trying to gather stuff around and sort out many more things.
So this will be the last of me for the time being. Feel free to check out my facebook pictures (if you have access to me as a friend that is) and updates from there.
Toodles!

Due to wanting my blog to have a nice header, I’m redoing the header as well as reprogramming it to fit IE. So if you are reading this in IE7 and everything looks like I threw a magnifying glass over it, don’t fret. Just go use Firefox or Google Chrome since my theme and header works well there. Yes, I’m going to redo the header to fit the width but that’ll have to wait for a bit.
I’ve been down with the flu since Thursday. I started a nagging sore throat on Wednesday night but I had Strepsils and plenty of water, in an attempt to try and flush out the bacteria. I even gargled salt water on Thursday morning to try and kill of the germs.
But alas, I woke up on Thursday morning, feeling rather tired and not wanting to get out of bed. Assuming that it was just a case of theweekendisnearitis, I rolled outta bed amid a bad sore throat and feeling rather cold that morning. But mind you, it is in the middle of winter now so one would expect it to be dead cold. Made my way to work and lo and behold, felt very much colder than usual and was shivering while going around the wards seeing patients. I had to do a shower assessment in the morning and while I watched in on one and did one myself, I was feeling so cold it wasn’t funny. I had to pretty much wear my heavy winter coat on top of my OT uniform and long sleeved shirt to keep warm over a warm cup of coffee.
After the action meeting at 8.30am and eating half a croissant, I still didn’t feel too good. I tried to keep up, but soon the body aches had begun, I officially have moved into flu territory. Admittedly its far less severe than my previous bouts of flu but its right smack in the middle of prac nonetheless. After lunch time, I didn’t think I could handle feeling so cold and so painful anymore and longed to curl up on my bed and just fall asleep. So I took off and went home, and I had to wait a blooming 35 minutes in the freezing cold and rain for the bus which was blooming late. I wasn’t a happy camper. I thought I was delirious that I had misread the bus timetable but indeed the bus was just extremely tardy.
I got home by 2pm and popped my contacts out put on 3 layers of clothes and crawled under 3 layers of blankets and dozed off effectively till 8pm when I thought it’d be a good idea to take some flu tablets. So off I trudged downstairs to get some soup into me, since I hadn’t eaten anything apart from half the croissant for morning tea. Got those down and went back to sleep from 9pm till about 8am Friday morning when I had to phone my supervisor to let her know that I would not be coming in to work that morning. I guess I could have, but I thought I’d better take it off, just in case I get worse and end up having to come back home again and stuff. So I effectively slept most of Friday away, willing my body to fight the flu. My fever went down on Friday morning so I felt much much better. Its awfully dreadful to be feeling cold even though you’re tucked in under 3 blankets, socks on, PJs on and still shivering.
I worked on Saturday, just having a slight cough and runny nose but it worked out alright.
Played tennis on Sunday, and amazingly enough I am not that sore today. Only slightly sore in my bum (I still don’t get why the muscles around my ischial tuberosities are aching) and my other limbs are fine. I guess this is a rather good form of exercise for me haha This week will probably be badminton since most of them are off on cell retreat, but we’ll see how it goes.
Well, I’m here to report that I’m currently having a slightly runny nose and a very mild cough but otherwise, surviving nicely. Team meetings after the 2 ward rounds were rather relaxed today, we had quite a few people get discharged while we were on shift today. Bumped into Justin Ti while seeing a patient and was quite amused to see them hunting down patients to sign off for their musculoskeletal part of their log books. So I have no become the person to go to for patients that they need to sign their log books haha
Anyways, I should be off writing my own case study and racking up the hours for my portfolio. Toodles!
These 2 weeks haven’t been the best for me health wise. I’ve had 3 day headaches, bouts of diarrhoea and now I’m down with a mild runny nose.
I had a 4 hour nap today and I feel marginally better.
Well I should really go get some work done. Hello 50 pages of strategies for cognitive and perceptual deficits and exam paper!
