Well, see half the holidays are gone and I feel as if my brain is beginning to rot from its disuse. I think my brain cells are starting to atrophy and I’m turning into a bimbo from all the shopping and walking around in the city and Harbourtown and just looking at the amount of clothes, shoes, bags and everything else on sale during the stock take season.
You know, I think I wouldn’t survive very well if I were to become a housewife and sit at home and organise the house. My brain would be crying out for some stimulation apart from, say, figuring out what the price difference is for apples in Subi markets and Woolies. Not that I’m dissing housewives out there, its just that I think that being a full-time housewife isn’t something that I’d like to do in the future.
Went out Zaneta today in the city cause I felt like walking around in the city today after work. Managed to buy pseudo pearl earrings for 2 bucks at Harbourtown’s Table Eight store. We also booked our free make up lesson (just cause it was free and we thought it’d be fun :P) at the Benefit counter in Myer for next Tuesday. Zaneta’s leaving on Wednesday for Malaysia, so we’d hang out on Tuesday before she leaves and before the whole uni madness starts again.
I’ll be glad to check results on Wednesday and find out that I’ve passed everything, I mean I should have passed right? They’ve sent me my tax invoice for next semester’s tuition fees. That’s gotta account for something. I can’t wait to start uni and fall back into routine again. I like my routine and hopefully we’ll get the classes that we want for uni and Ange, Lin and me will be in the same classes again. It feels so weird not seeing them always, and its weird not being in the same classes as them and hanging out with them during break time.
Things are going to be so different this sem, I’m just hoping its not going to be as hard as I think it’ll be.
The phrase just popped into my head while I was taking a leisurely stroll in Perth City today and this middle aged guy randomly sneezed without covering his mouth. All I could think off were the germs flying about in the air when he sneezed and how I hoped I wouldn’t catch a cold from them.
And this guy looked well dressed enough to possess some social etiquette, but somehow I think he missed that lesson in school. But somehow I would have thought it’d be common sense to at least whip out a handkerchief or use your hand to at least cover flying, projectile snot and germs coming out of your nose and mouth when you sneeze. Maybe it isn’t so common sense after all.
This post reminded me today that some people don’t realise their actions in public portray of themselves sometimes. After reading that post last night, I couldn’t help but realise how many people flash their butt cracks to the public, intentionally or unintentionally, I don’t know. What I do know is that it sometimes is disturbing to see butt cracks on some people in public *shudders at memories of today*
Anyway, had quite a relaxing time strolling in the city, witnessing the hustle and bustle of daily life and just listening to my ipod. Stock take sales are raging madly in the city and its hard to walk past the stores and not buy anything that is like 70% off. Though I must say, Harbourtown is the best place for bargains, Suite 62 Boutique in front of Valley Girl/Temt is one of the best places to shop cause of all the nice cheap stuff there. There isn’t an item of clothing that I have bought from that place that is more than $10 bucks. Literally. So if anybody is looking for great bargains, look no further than there
Somehow I think I’ve managed to injure my ipod, mine is the really old one without the click wheel, with the 4 buttons in between the screen and the wheel. The back is the usual shiny thing, and the front doesn’t have the glass thing like the new ones and I think I somehow either squished the ipod in its case with my stuff or someone must have stepped on it or something heavy must have been on top of it because the metal casing is coming out on the side. I’m not sure if it was caused by the water I split in my bag the other day, but I sure hope that nothing happened to it cause I think I’d go insane without my ipod to listen to.
Managed to get Jasmine’s present for her birthday, which is today. Aunty called and I’m working in the morning tomorrow instead of the afternoon, so I’m off to bed now. Have to get out of the house early to go look for my keychain that I lost on the way home. It’s the Top OT one. I’m going to find it and when I do, I’m keeping it away and not using it as a keychain anymore cause its all the way from the UK (well, 1st being made in China :P) and I can’t bear losing it. So, that’s all from me tonight. Toodles!
Well, life’s been pretty much routine lately. Work on Monday, Wednesday, Friday, Saturday and Sunday. Get Tuesday ad Thursday off to take a breather and possibly go out with friends. I think my brain’s rotting away from disuse these holidays. I’d imagine summer’s going to be worse, but I really should go start practical this summer just so I can complete my 1000 hours faster and so I have more time at the end of next year to go work at Myers or David Jones as a casual for Christmas before I register in 2009 at an Occupational Therapist. Finally.
These holidays have been alright so far, been catching up on the TV, though I still have yet to touch Scrubs Season 1 yet. I feel so anti-social lately, I just want to stay at home and hang out by myself. I think it must be the weather with all the storms and rain that’s making me want to huddle under the doona and sleep the whole day
The only thing exciting happening lately is that Perth had some storms yesterday which flooded the Kwinana Freeway and caused some trees in King’s Park to fall and some damage and power cuts to suburbs around Perth. Apparently Subi had a power black out. I’m really surprised, cause every year it seems to be that Subi has power black outs even though it is one of the more expensive suburbs.
Anyway, I’m off to go find something to do. Hmmm….
Yes, I finally went clubbing at Metro’s on Saturday night
There always has to be a first for everything in life.
Went to Saigon in Northbridge for dinner and some powerful Vietnamese white iced coffee *slurps* Those things are the bomb! And then it was off to Metro’s for a night of dancing and partying away! Ange, Lin and me went off to Metro’s and the babes gave me a ‘tour’ of the place…..”There is the red bar (points to a bar with red lights), and those 2 are the blue bars (points at the bars with blue lights, left and right of the mosh pit). The toilet is up here, and the dance floor is down there with the people dancing and the DJs playing. That is all you need to know”.
And clearly that was all I needed to know. After the little tour, saw John near the blue bar with a bunch of friends. Don’t ask me how I managed to recognise him in the dark and in a strange place, I just have this thing for noticing people
And from the ‘balcony’, we saw Ee and her bf Hung, and Maybz waiting in the line outside. Don’t know how I did that
I <3 those babes to death! They were so nice and we ended up dancing, walking to the toilets with hands linked (it's only cause we didn't want to loose each other in the dark) and meeting random people on the dance floor. We were one of the first to dance, and there was this photographer chick from Xpress magazine who took our pictures for the mag, so if anyone sees the mag, please keep it for me! I wanna see it
It was fully packed to the point where the dance floor was so squished you could barely dance after a while. The acts there were quite good, I must say the guys in the jump suits were awesome! Not to mention they also danced to the JT songs AND Bob Sinclar....Hahaha....Great songs and veeeeery cute guys dancing on the stage....Hahaha.
I'll put up pictures of us when I finally get them Ange, who is in Melbourne now. I miss you babes!!! Managed to take a few pictures of myself at dinner
So here they are! And the dress I'm wearing is only 10 bucks
Though I thought it was a top at first....Hahaha...till Ange made me try it on without bottoms. Lol. Then I realised it was long enough to be a dress, and it says so on the label as well

If you were wondering why my eyes look like that, I’ll have you know its the smoky eye look, done by Ange….Hahaha….Nobody bashed me up so my eyes looked like that. In fact, I quite like my eyes like that thank you very much
Well, now is a good time as any to write a whole “1st Timer’s Guide to Clubbing”, seeing that I went on Saturday and have had a feel of the whole clubbing scene
Not that I’m in the clubbing scene a lot.
First of all, I would recommend bringing friends with you that you can trust, just in case things go wrong. If you’re a girl, bring girl friends that have been there before or bring a guy friend you can trust. But then again, bring your girlfriends
Holding hands while walking on the dance floor or on the way to the toilet might seem strange, but better safe than sorry. It is dark in there and its loud, so chances of finding you group of friends if you’re lost might be a little slim. Also, designate a driver waaaaaaaaay in advance just so you know who cannot drink that night. Sounds rather basic but then again, would you like to place your life in the hands of a person who has drank enough alcohol to last for weeks? Plus, in case fights break out (they happen pretty often I heard) your friends will be there to huddle with you and stay away till the bouncers break up the fight.
One more thing when clubbing, make sure you dress properly. That’s collared shirts/T-shirts for the guys (the bouncers were strict, they turned away a bunch of guys in the line ahead of us cause they wore T-shirts without collars) and dressy things for the girls
Or rather anything appropriate enough to dance in and to climb up and down stairs in. Last thing you need is for a wardrobe malfunction on the dance floor
Also, wear COMFORTABLE shoes/heels. OK, I admit, after dancing for 3 hours NO shoes can remain comfortable
Just remember that there will be glass on the dance floor from the drinks, so wear shoes that will protect your feet from the glass. My feet have just started to recover from all that dancing
Try to arrive early and snag an awesome parking spot if you’re driving. You’d be VERY thankful that you snagged a spot in front of the club after you finish and your feet are screaming out for relief. Entry is cheaper earlier and you have a lot shorter line for the cloak room
Then again, after the whole thing, the line to the cloak room is going to be really long, so might as well leave your coats in the car and wear a pashmina inside and stash it away in a bag while dancing. Works wonders
Things to bring:
1. ID - you’re not getting anywhere without this, so don’t forget this if you have to forget anything
2. Money - again, not gonna get inside if you don’t have moolah. A 50 will do to buy you entry and at least a few drinks
3. Camera if its small enough and you don’t mine carrying it while dancing. Though I think sometimes they check you for cameras during events, so just be mindful of it.
3. Mobile, keys
Girls, don’t worry about carrying your whole makeup kit and kaboodle, its too dark to fix makeup anyway. The most you need is lipbalm and lipgloss. As for bags, don’t carry a massive one, either a clutch or a small shoulder bag is good enough so you can dance with. You don’t really want to be poking someone’s eyes out with a massive bag
As for drinks, I have no clue to what is what but they have the usual stuff you’d find in a tav, plus cocktails and other randoms bits and pieces
Speaking about random bits and pieces, I just got my hair cut yesterday, just a trim nothings drastic. I’m wanting to grow my hair out long but its seriously not behaving itself lately. Went to Just Cuts in the city. I reckon that lady that did my hair (Lynn) isn’t such a good stylist. I prefer my usual stylist, Stef to do my hair cause somehow she does it right. Hurr….Anyway, reason I’m writing about them is that you know how they spray your hair with water before cutting it right? This other girl, Lynn, sprayed so much water on my hair that it ended up being soaking wet and cold. And they’re smart, they charge 6 bucks to blow dry hair. I couldn’t exactly be walking the streets of Perth at 10am with wet hair and freezing my head off now could I??? Grrrr….
Anyways, I’m off to catch up on my beauty sleep now. Toodles!
In case you’re wondering why the titles says Day 5 instead of starting at Day 1, its cause its Day 5 into my semester break.
I spent the early part of the day clearing my room, doing laundry, organising my files and preparing to pack them away and get ready for next semester. I’ve finally decided on what I’d want my timetable to look like for next semester, though whether or not I’d get it and along with the girls will be an entirely different matter. Though I’m praying it does happen cause I don’t want to sit in applied neuro, mental health, individual & group counselling classes without my babes. I’d be so lost without them.
Not seeing the babes for a few days feels so weird. We used to have classes together all the time, but now that it’s break we’re all working, and running errands in our separate ways. Sigh. Ange, Lin, if you’re reading this, I MISS YOU!!! See you tomorrow!!! Hahaha….We’re going to rock the dance floor
Went out with Zaneta today, and it just had to rain didn’t it. First we hit Subi, next was Harbourtown and then the City for some late night shopping. And I just realised Harbourtown is classfied as city shopping, so its open till late on Fridays! Yay!
Anyways, I’ve finished watching Heroes Season 1!! Gosh, what an ending. I seriously want to see what happens in the next season with that ending. Such a cliffhanger
I have Scrubs Season 1 on my HD, I’ll probably move on to watching that soon since I need to finish 6 seasons of Scrubs before uni starts again. I’ve got something like 5-6 weeks of holidays (technically) and 1 week has almost passed already.
It’s hard to believe that I finished exams this week and its only Friday. I’m pretty lucky to finish on Monday of 2nd week while some people finished exams today. Poor them.
Anyhow, I’m seriously tired now. I’m off to bed before I collapse from lack of sleep tomorrow after work and clubbing with the girls at night. Toodles!
We had a party at Joe’s house today as it’s Gloria’s birthday today!! We celebrated it along with Benson’s, Justin Chin’s and Richie’s birthday. Boy, I’m glad that I decided to take the night off and go for a while. I don’t think it would have been good for me to be sitting in front of the computer all night trying to figure out my assignment and feeling all miserable while everybody is having fun.
Here are the pictures I took during the party. Feel free to download them from my blog. I’ll be putting up a gallery soon, so I’ll shove all the pictures there so everyone can download too. Disclaimer: Please don’t be offended with the sibtitles or captions, they are just for the fun of it
Enjoy!
Here they are:

L-R: Me, Gloria, Justin, Joe

L-R: Yong, Victor, Michie

L-R: Gloria, Richie, Justin

As above

Amanda and Me

Michie and Me

The we-love-to-touch-Joe people. I still don’t get why they were doing that

This I can understand. Though, it does look a bit sus

So JY cut his hair and thus attracted a whole bunch of guys touching his head, while he attacks someone else

Amanda and Justin

It was JY’s idea for this and everybody else seemed to realise the picture was being taken but poor Wen. But seriously, this is quite amusing

I reckon this is quite a nice photo, although we must have made a pretty sight while taking these photos.

L-R: Me, Cheesy, Justin

I have no idea what this picture was taken for, but hey, it is funny

JY and the PS, which was quite an entertaining sight

Forgive me JY, I just find the pictures hilarious
I’ve got a few more, so whoever wants more than these photos, just drop me a line and I’ll hand the rest to you
Last night’s cell was awesome!!! We had it at my place, and 20 people showed up which was really encouraging. We were doing the thing on the 5 languages of love, namely: quality time, words of affirmation, acts of service, gifts and physical touch. Looking back on my entry for Thursday that really summed up my primary love language of quality time, which basically is spending quality time with people close to me. I’m actually surprised how well I know myself, because sometimes I have doubts about myself and my qualities.
I’ve ended up with an even more crooked nose due to my colliding with someone yesterday while playing ‘Heart Attack’ during cell yesterday. It’s quite sore and a little swollen. Now apparently I’ve got an even more Jewish nose
So its now slightly more crooked than usual, so when you see me, please don’t tell me I look ugly
Thanks goes to Gloria for the photos taken at cell

Proper shot

Muck up or rather, everyone wasn’t ready
Today we also had the Amazing Races at King’s Park which was such a fun activity! I can almost see my fat melt away after the running/jogging/walking we were doing. Nic led our team (Eaglez) which comprised of me, Jasmine, Angel, Tim and Kevin. We had quite a run and trying to solve clues as well as doing the puzzles and not getting lost.
We came in first in the end, even after the time penalty for missing one clue about the ingredients of glue
We started off first but the second team caught up due to us not getting a map and trying to be all pro
And the Eagles won the derby!! Woot!
Here’s some of the pictures from my camera, will compile the rest and file it here so you guys can download it soon. Here goes:

We are the Eaglez!

Nic and me. Go team leader!!

Group picture! L-R: Kevin, Nic, Jas, me, Angel, Tim.
Ready, ready?

Try 1. Fail.

Try 2. Fail.

Try 3. Success! Presenting the Toyota or Smashpop jump!! Woot!!!
If you are reading this and have photos from the Amazing Races, do drop me a comment of e-mail me at gazooie@gmail.com so I can compile them and put it up.
Christmas is nearly here and the year is nearly over. Which can only mean 2 things: I am going home soon and it’s time for New Year’s resolutions yet again.
I’m not sure who came up with the idea of New Year’s Resolutions, but it was a good one. I am a person who likes new beginnings, new things, anything along the lines. I’ve made many a New Year’s Resolutions, but I guess not all of them have been fulfilled. There have been insane times where I’d resolved to lose an enormous amount of weight in a year (which is ridiculous, given my love of food) to the time when I guess I resolved to try going to the gym on a regular basis (this one worked out for 6 months and went downhill after that).
Of course, with the year coming to an end and reflecting over the previous year definitely puts me in a place where I’m inspired to improve myself for the year to come. I suppose trying to better myself wouldn’t hurt, but definitely coming up with resolutions that are realistic would be the number one step. So here’s hoping for a nice new year ahead, and with hope that I manage to fulfill at least 50% of my resolutions for next year.
Kristine’s New Year’s Resolutions:
- I resolve to get a 60% average for all my units in uni next year. The higher the average, the better
- I resolve to save up to go for a holiday in Melbourne with the babes and to visit Aunty Celine and the rest of the family in Melbourne
- I resolve to lost 5 kilos next year and keep it that way for the year
- I resolve to work harder at uni and to maintain a balance in life
- I resolve to blog more and nurture my creative moments. I have to set aside time to blog and let out the emotions and not let them get in the way of life
I would think 5 resolutions for the New Year is enough. Too many might just be my undoing.
Went off to Garden City aka Garbo to get some Christmas shopping done along with watching a movie. Caila and I went off to Garbo food court for lunch and we bumped into Jon there. Which was good, since he tagged along to watch The Prestige.
I admit, I was half scared of watching the movie at first cause I thought it was a horror movie and I’ve had enough of that for my lifetime.
Anyways, that was one of the best movies I’ve seen this year, besides Pirates 2. I was watching in anticipation while the storyline developed and after I watched it for the first time, I wanted to watch it again because of the twist in the story which makes sense towards the end. Definitely worth the AUD$12 I paid for to watch the movie.
Besides the movie, Christmas shopping wasn’t very productive today, only managed to get gifts for Jolene and Angeline. It’s been my 3rd Christmas shopping trip and I still have yet to buy presents for half the people on my list. And I’m going to go so broke from all of this shopping before I even head back to Malaysia.
So once again, a reminder that I return to Malaysia on the 30th of December 2006 till the 12th of February 2007. Won’t be returning to Malaysia in a long, long time after that and there are definitely some people that I’m dying to meet up with, namely some of the Malaysian bloggers whose blogs I read often and of course my friends back home. I can’t wait till that day, which is getting closer and closer, but I still don’t know what to back in my bag and I have yet to clear up the mess in my room. Tomorrow shall be the day for that
Well, it’s that time of year again. It’s 20 days to Christmas and 15 days to my family’s arrival in Perth for a holiday.
The whole Christmas spirit is too commercialized, which totally runs away from the true meaning of Christmas: the day Christ was born. I guess I do like receiving the gifts, but its all another excuse for people to spend money and buy people things that they’ll chuck away for a good portion of the year and rediscover it later on.
I know I sound like a pessimist, but well, I’m not.
I know Santa ain’t real, but who cares! I’m still writing me that Christmas list cause everybody else is doing it!
Dear Santa,
I know I haven’t been the perfect girl this year, but I’ve tried to be good all year. I didn’t pull anybody’s hair out this year, I didn’t choke anyone and I even didn’t murder anybody. Good, right?
Well, I ask for very simple things only. If you could grant me these presents, I’ll be very good next year. I promise!
- Can I please have my family arrive safely on the 20th of December? They are very important to me
- Can you please make me thinner for next year so I can wear nice clothes without looking flabby?
- Can I please make enough money to let me buy that beautiful Guess? bag from Garbo?
Simple right, Santa?
I’m sure I can think of more, but there 3 will do for now. Will update the list later!
XOXO,
Kristine
