In Pain and Boredom
I hurt my back this morning, not sure how but I’m sitting with a painful left lower back pain. I sure hope I recover enough for tomorrow’s dance practice.
Just cause I wanted to try out PhotoScape, I did this. Enjoy.

Does not usually work with me. Especially when you whine.
Though I’d make the exception if you were a nice guy and asking me nicely ![]()
It has been a rather busy week for me. In between sorting out my prac preparations, attending tutorials, reading up on rehab and assessment techniques I managed to have a breather down at Amanda’s place in North Dandalup over the weekend. I tell you, that was definitely a weekend well spent. We went down on Friday night and came back on Sunday arvo and I’m feeling a little less stressed with prac prep and a little more on the ball. We all went down for the Leaders’ Retreat for church and it was a wonderful time of relaxing and seeking God. I think I feel a bit more ready to start cell in semester 2 with more to give.
I’m currently reading up on my Trombly & Radomski book, which my supervisor has given me prep readings to do. And I’m supposed to be skimming through half the book in a matter of a few days. I’ve prepared most of my paperwork so it isn’t going to be so bad on the 1st day of prac. I guess I have to say, expect less updates cause I’ll be away from home at 7am till 6pm 5 days a week and I have reading to do after work and sleep to catch up on.
Here’s to an exciting prac!
Just came back from a job interview and a photo shoot for the community newspaper. Boy, have I never more hated cheapo grease laden doughnuts. We had to pose with a few cheapo stuff in our bid for the Operation E-mail Krispy Kreme I helped start on Facebook. Those doughnuts that we had to hold were beyond disgusting. They leaked grease everywhere and when I was told to squish the doughnuts for the picture, the doughnuts were still intact after I did. Just a little misshapen but no breakages.
After that 15 minutes of photo taking, I must admit photo shoots are fun. Now I want to be a model…Haha
Anyways, it has been a long week so far. I finally finished writing my 200 page project and just going to write up the final project report to satisfy the unit coordinators and I’m done with the unit. Then, moving along to psychiatry and studying for the placement at Charlies. I am so looking forward to that! ![]()
Well, suffice to say that I have been out of action for a while. I have my hands full trying to manage between studying for my psychiatry prac (I have an orientation file to read as well as the Sadock & Sadock book to go throu, not to mention my mental health and psychiatry unit notes to skim), finishing off my self-directed prac (which involves me writing the last lot of 50 pages for the banking task), finishing up my bible study book, and picking up and learning stuff for cell. In between that, I’ve got barely enough time to do things. But oh well, I like being busy rather than being bored.
I just got my hair coloured professionally and let’s put it this way: I LOVE it! Is that subtle enough? Unfortunately I can’t really capture the colours with my camera since most of it is at the back so it’ll be a while before pictures are up.
Gotta run now. Toodles!
I drove to Gen and Glo’s apartment in the city yesterday. I tell you, that was probably one of my more educational driving trips. I had to try and get into the parking lot of the Sheraton, couldn’t really get in with the queue, cut a U-turn, try again and finally giving up and then parallel parking on the street. I think I might just stick to forwards parking for the time being. LOL
Drove Amanda home after that and I feel rather accomplished. Though I think I should send my car for another service…It is sounding a bit funny. It has just come back from a service 2 months ago….Oh well, I don’t really expect much from a Proton haha
Well, today I managed to slice my left thumb with a vege peeler while peeling a stupidly small potato. So now, my thumbs are sorta symmetrical in a sense that my right thumbnail was grated off while I was grating chocolate yesterday and today the skin on my left thumb is sliced while I was peeling potatoes.
Just goes to show my cooking prowess!
Don’t worry, I bake better than I cook. LOL
Speaking of food, we went to lunch today at Penang Hawker in Northbridge. Had yummy asam laksa and cendol. I miss food at home.
While walking to lunch today, I snapped these pictures. In between snapping both pictures, me and Elizabeth nearly got rolled over by 2 cars….Just prior to that, I was joking that since the 3 boys were in front and so engrossed in their conversation, they wouldn’t notice us screaming for help behind them. Usually its the girls that walk in front so the guys can keep a lookout for them.
But when they heard I think me screeching trying to avoid the car, they stopped and waited for us. Haha…so they do check for us girls once in a while.
That there was one of the cars that we had to avoid. We didn’t look to the left and nearly got hit. Twice LOL
I took the pictures cause they looked quite funny the 3 of them walking in a row with different dress styles and shoes LOL
Today at church we went around getting to know people better and it was quite amusing. Elder James Seow was reacquainting us with the church vision which is “A united people with passion and purpose: Loving God - Making Disciples”. So he was saying we should be united and get to know each others names and such. That’s when my brain went into Champion League mode and I thought, “Hey! We are men united!” Lame but yea.
That’s all for today. Got a ton of work to do ![]()
I grated my thumbnail today while grating chocolate. Not a pretty sight but oh well.
Kthnxbai.
I’ve been keeping rather busy lately with the bible study I’m doing, the Masterlife thing for cell, the assignment for uni as well as my self-directed project. I’ve recovered a lot since the last time I’ve blogged, then I was wrecked with coughing fits from the dust flying around from t he renovations as well as from being generally sick. I’m just coughing very very minimally now, since they’ve almost finished the renovations at home.
Since I’m effectively working from home, I’ve had more time to read blogs daily. There are just so many blogs out there but there are some I’ve been reading on a long term basis and some that I have just begun reading more often.
On the top of my good reads list is none other than Suet who is now in the USA studying. She is one of the few bloggers that I met in real life before. Her blog is just filled with really nice pictures and of stories on how she manages studying away from home. Definitely one of my entertainment highlights of the day. Haha
Another one for people who are looking for more philosophical takes on life as well as the latest in gadgetry and blogging software review or anything to do with computers, Edrei is the man to go to. Another blogger I met up with in Malaysia way back in 2005 where blogging was still in its early days. His blog tends to make me think about lots of things in life and well a good read for whoever wants to buy an EeePC. He’ll tell you about all the goodness of a UMPC, particularly the Eee.
Someone I recently rediscovered is Kimberly who now has her own PR firm at such a young age. I guess I blog hopped around a bit and found her site and then started to read. I tell you her stories make me crack up so much that it is such a good stress reliever. Its inspiring to read how she started up her PR firm and then is quite successful in it. Half makes me want to do commerce (Don’t worry dad, I’ll finish this degree 1st…Hehe).
There are quite a few famous ones I read quite often, being Kenny Sia and Nicole Tan. The pictures they take and the adventures they have really bring out the tourist bug in me
Someday I shall go explore the tourist attractions of Perth and let the little kid in me take over and go “ooohhh” and “aahhhh” at museum exhibits and art displays.
Some days I look to those blogs for inspiration, for motivation to go on through the stressful periods in life and strive harder in the things I do.
Some days, I’m just plain procrastinating and want to keep occupied and not look at my work.
Some days, I’m just plain KPC.
I guess that’s what the internet is for ![]()
